Special Issue on Advances in knowledge discovery and management, best papers of EGC 2025 Submission Date: 2025-08-29 This special issue is a selection of the best papers of the French-speaking conference on Knowledge Extraction and Management (EGC) 2025. EGC is the reference conference for the French community in Knowledge Extraction and Management since its inception in 2001. The topics of EGC include machine learning, knowledge engineering and representation, data and knowledge reasoning, data mining and analysis, information systems, databases, semantic Web and open data, etc. All innovative work on these topics is welcome.
EGC 2025 will focus on data management and knowledge extraction (a.k.a. KDD) for scientific research. The massive digitalization of scientific data and of the practices in scientific research are witnessing technical and epistemological transformations. Fundamental questions of data management and knowledge extraction are taking on an essential role in all fields of research: in life sciences (biology, medicine, epidemiology, etc.), environmental sciences (climate, agronomy, etc.), human sciences (politics, social organizations, literature, education, geography), physics/chemistry (astronomy, materials, mechanics), etc.
The 2025's edition of the French EGC conference aims to promote fundamental research in computer science that tackles the challenges of empowering scientific research with data, those of the interface between KDD and other scientific disciplines, and the ethical and societal issues of their use.Edit Full scope of the Special Issue
