Theme:

Industry 4.0, characterized by the amalgamation of cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), robotics, Big Data, AI, and blockchain. As of now, industrial production and supply chains have evolved into more autonomous and intelligent systems. This sets the stage for the convergence of Industry 4.0 and agriculture, offering the prospect of transforming industrial agriculture into its next evolutionary phase—Agriculture 4.0. In this paradigm, sustainable and intelligent industrial agriculture can be realized through the real-time, fine-grained collection, processing, and analysis of spatio-temporal data across all facets of the agricultural industry. This spans from food production, processing, and distribution to enhancing the consumer experience. An intelligent agricultural ecosystem, marked by real-time farm management, a high degree of automation, and data-driven decision-making, stands poised to significantly elevate productivity, streamline agri-food supply chains, bolster food safety measures, and optimize the use of natural resources.

This Special Session on "Industry 4.0 in Agriculture" serves as a platform for researchers across diverse interdisciplinary fields to showcase their latest advancements in the realm of smart agriculture.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Robotics and autonomous systems for smart agriculture
  • Computer vision and sensing systems in agriculture
  • Electronic devices and control in agri-robotics
  • Artificial intelligence for smart agriculture
  • Big data analytics for smart agriculture
  • Internet of Things for smart agriculture
  • Plant factory and vertical farming system
  • Blockchain for smart agriculture
  • Edge computing for smart agriculture
  • Unmanned farm and intelligent agricultural machinery
