Graduated from Fudan University with a PhD in International Law, Dr Cao is now a professor of law at Shanghai University of Political Science and Law (SHUPL).
Professor Cao currently works as Director of Technology and Law Center and Intellectual Property Research Center at SHUPL. He also serves as Executive Director of Technology and Law Society of China.
He used to be a Berkman Klein Fellow at Harvard University and was selected as the sole participant from China to attend the WTO-WIPO Colloquium for Intellectual Property Teachers at Geneva in 2017.
Professor Cao is an attorney-at-law at FuAn Law Firm.
Professor Cao writes extensively on international intellectual property policy, IP and innovations, IP and Food Security, IP and Internet, Regulating Internet Platforms, AI regulations. He is the author of seven academic books and dozens of academic papers.
Professor Cao is now working intensively on internet and its impact on society. He is the leading researcher of program "AI Regulation from International Law Perspective" supported by National Social Science Fund.
