Jiajia Jiang is currently an Associate Professor of the State Key Lab of Precision Measuring Technology and Instruments at Tianjin University, China. He has been serving as the Vice Director of the Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of MEMS Technology, and the Vice Director of Tianjin University-Shance (Tianjin) Technology Joint Research Center for Major Equipment Health Monitoring. He is currently Doctoral Supervisor of Tianjin University. He was a Visiting Research Scholar of The University of Sheffield, United Kingdom from October 2017 to April 2018. He has been serving as the Committee of Vibration Measurement Branch International Measurement Confederation (IMEKO), Committee of the Youth Working Committee of China Instrument and Control Society, Technology Commissioner of Tianjin Meiteng Technology Co. LTD and Shance (Tianjin) technology Co. LTD, Technical Committee of Shenghua Ye Academician Workstation of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Communication Evaluation Expert of Academic Degree Center of the Ministry of Education of China, Evaluation Expert of Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Fund of Tianjin University, IEEE Member, IEEE Signal Processing Society Member, and IEEE Communications Society Member.
He was selected as “Young Elite Scientists Sponsorship Program” by China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), “Provincial Young Science and Technology Talents” of Innovation Talent Promotion Plan of Tianjin City, the Provincial "131" Innovative Talents Training Project of Tianjin City, Provincial “Fok Ying Tung” education foundation Program for young teachers in colleges and universities of Ministry of education, and “Beiyang Scholar ‧ Young Backbone Teacher” of Tianjin University.
He won the “Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award” of Tianjin University, National Scholarship for Doctoral Candidates (twice, in 2012 and 2013, respectively), “Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Fund” of Tianjin University, Provincial Third Prize of National Undergraduate Electronic Design Competition, Provincial Second Prize of of National Challenge Cup Science and Technology Competition, Provincial Excellent Graduate Award, College Contribution Award for Scientific Research of Tianjin University, College Contribution Award for Public Service of Tianjin university, Demonstration Post for Young Faculty of Tianjin University, “Shen Zhikang Award” of Tianjin University, and Outstanding Undergraduate Graduation Design Instructors (twice, in 2016 and 2017, respectively).
He guided PhD students to win the National Gold Prize of the Fifth China “Internet plus” College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, Provincial Champion of Tianjin “Internet plus” College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, Provincial Champion of the Second “President’s Cup” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition of Tianjin University. He guided undergraduate students to win one National Second Prize and two Provincial Third Prizes of the National Undergraduate Electronic Design Competition, one National Third Prize of iCAN Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for International College Students.
His research interest focuses on the underwater detection/communication/localization/signal processing, bionic detection/communication/signal processing, animal acoustics and signal processing, major equipment health monitoring, ocean monitoring and instrumentation design. He received his B.S. degrees from HeBei Normal University and the M.S. and Ph.D degrees from Tianjin University in 2014.
As a Principle Investigator, he have presided 17 Research Projects, including national, provincial and corporate projects, and as a Core Technical Backbone, he have participated in more than 30 Research Projects, including national, provincial and corporate projects; the total project funding exceeded RMB 60 million. He has published more than 80 academic papers at academic journals and international conferences, including IEEE Communication Magazine, IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Sensor Journal, etc.. His work has been cited over 220 times. One of his papers had been awarded the most popular paper by the IEEE Sensors Council in July 2013. Besides, he has applied for 65 invention patents, among which 20 invention patents have been authorized and 30 utility model patents have been authorized.
He was the Chair for the 321st China young scientists forum of the China association for science and technology, Session Chair for national academic forum in instrument science and biomedical engineering in 2019. He won the Best Paper Award at national academic forum in instrument science and biomedical engineering in 2013. He was chosen to speak on behalf of the young teachers at the third science and technology work conference of Tianjin University, and at Shen Zhikang award ceremony.
