金海，博士，华中科技大学教授、博士生导师，长江学者特聘教授，国家杰出青年基金获得者，华中科技大学计算机学院院长，华中科技大学“集群与网格计算湖北省重点实验室”和“服务计算技术与系统教育部重点实验室”主任，清华大学、复旦大学兼职教授。国务院特殊津贴专家、国务院学位委员会第六届学科评议组成员、第六届教育部科学技术委员会信息学部委员。973计划“计算系统虚拟化基础理论与方法研究”首席科学家、教育部重大专项“中国教育科研网格ChinaGrid”计划的专家组组长、“十二五”国家高技术研究发展计划（863计划）信息技术领域主题专家组专家、“十一五／十二五”国家863计划“高效能计算机及网格服务环境”重大项目专家组成员。中国计算机学会常务理事、湖北省计算机学会理事长、中国计算机学会对外联络部副主任、中国计算机学会高性能计算专委会委员/普适计算专委会委员/服务计算专委会委员、中国电子学会云计算/物联网专家委员会委员。教育部“长江学者和创新团队发展计划”创新团队学术带头人、湖北省自然科学基金创新团队学术带头人。

        金海是霍英东高等院校青年教师基金获得者，入选“首批新世纪百千万人才工程国家级人选”，2004年获中国软件行业十大杰出青年称号。第五届湖北省青年科技奖获得者，湖北省第六届十大杰出青年获得者。2003年，获中共中央组织部、中共中央宣传部、中共中央统战部、国家人事部、国家教育部、国家科技部六部委联合颁发的“留学回国人员成就奖”。获国家科技进步二等奖1项、国家发明二等奖1项、教育部科技进步/技术发明一等奖3项、湖北省科技进步/技术发明一等奖2项、国家自然科学四等奖1项。

        金海1994年毕业于原华中理工大学计算机系计算机系统结构专业，获工学博士学位。1996年5月至1996年8月获德国DAAD交换学者奖学金，在德国Chemnitz大学从事有关SCI互连的SMP集群计算机的科研合作。1998年4月至2000年12月赴香港大学从事博士后研究，期间于1999年1月至2000年12月赴美国南加州大学继续从事博士后研究工作。2000年底回国工作至今。曾参加了香港大学和美国南加州大学的集群及网格系统的研究。主要研究领域为计算机体系结构、计算系统虚拟化、集群计算和网格计算、对等计算、网络存储与并行I/O、网络安全等。

        金海是IEEE及IEEE计算机学会高级会员、ACM会员，全球网格论坛策划委员会（GFSG）委员。现任《IEEE Transactions on Parallel andDistributed System》杂志、《IEEETransactions on Cloud Computing》杂志、《Parallel Computing》杂志、《World Wide Web》杂志、《InternationalJournal of Grid and Utility Computing》杂志、《InternationalJournal on Web and Grid Services》杂志、《Journal of Science andTechnology》杂志、《Frontiers of ComputerScience》杂志、《International Journal ofComputer and Applications》等杂志的编委、网格与普适计算国际学术会议指导委员会主席、亚太服务计算国际学术会议指导委员会主席、IEEE/ACM集群和网格计算国际会议指导委员会委员、集群和协同计算国际会议指导委员会委员、IFIP网络与并行计算国际会议指导委员会委员、泛在与智能计算国际会议指导委员会委员、自主与可信计算国际会议指导委员会委员。先后110余次担任国际学术会议/程序委员会主席/副主席、380余次担任国际学术会议程序委员会委员，并80余次在国际/国内学术会议上作大会主题演讲或特邀报告。

        金海在国内外正式发表学术论文500余篇，其中被SCI、EI等权威检索刊物收录500余篇次。获国家发明专利58项、申报国家发明专利88项，申报美国发明专利1项，获国家软件著作版权66项。主持了一批重大科研项目，包括973项目、教育部重大专项、国家杰出青年基金项目、国家自然科学基金重大/重点项目、863重点项目、CNGI项目、霍英东高等院校青年教师基金项目、国际合作项目等。

Introduction

Hai Jin is a Cheung Kung Scholars Chair Professorof computer science and engineering at Huazhong University of Science andTechnology (HUST) in China. He is now Dean of the School of Computer Scienceand Technology at HUST. Jin received his PhD in computer engineering from HUSTin 1994. In 1996, he was awarded a German Academic Exchange Service fellowshipto visit the Technical University of Chemnitz in Germany. Jin worked at TheUniversity of Hong Kong between 1998 and 2000, and as a visiting scholar at theUniversity of Southern California between 1999 and 2000. He was awardedExcellent Youth Award from the National Science Foundation of China in 2001.Jin is the chief scientist of ChinaGrid, the largest grid computing project inChina, and the chief scientist of National 973 Basic Research Program Projectof Virtualization Technology of Computing System.

Jin is a senior member of the IEEE and amember of the ACM. Jin is the member of Grid Forum Steering Group (GFSG). Hehas co-authored 15 books and published over 400 research papers. His researchinterests include computer architecture, virtualization technology, clustercomputing and grid computing, peer-to-peer computing, network storage, andnetwork security.

Jin is the steering committee chair of InternationalConference on Grid and Pervasive Computing (GPC), Asia-Pacific ServicesComputing Conference (APSCC), International Conference on Frontier of ComputerScience and Technology (FCST), and Annual ChinaGrid Conference. Jin is a memberof the steering committee of the IEEE/ACM International Symposium on ClusterComputing and the Grid (CCGrid), the IFIP International Conference on Networkand Parallel Computing (NPC), and the International Conference on Grid andCooperative Computing (GCC), International Conference on Autonomic and TrustedComputing (ATC), International Conference on Ubiquitous Intelligence andComputing (UIC).
