中山大学数学学院教授、博士生导师、计算科学与计算机应用研究所所长、湘潭大学"智能计算与信息处理"省部共建教育部重点实验室学术委员会委员。历任广东省计算科学重点实验室副主任、广东省计算数学学会理事长、常务副理事长、中国计算数学学会理事。多次担任国家自然科学基金、中国博士点专向基金,教育部优秀成果奖的通信评议人。组织或联合组织小波/时频分析/模式识别领域的多个国际学术会议。发表论文80余篇, 译著三本,专著一本, 教材一本。

1987年获得北京师范大学数学专业理学硕士学位
1995年获得中山大学计算数学与应用软件专业理学博士学位
1996年3月至1998年3月在中国科学院数学研究所做博士后
1987年至1998年任湖南师范大学数学系助教、讲师、副教授
1998年3月至今任教中山大学数学与计算科学学院,2001年晋升为教授, 2003年遴选为博士生导师
